From learning about forensic medicine to exploring neurodegenerative diseases, the department allows undergraduates students to choose from several interesting courses.

Current Research Experience:
I currently hold a Research Opportunity Program (ROP) position in Dr. Haibo Zhang’s lab in the Department of Laboratory Medicine & Pathobiology. I am assisting in investigating the cellular and molecular mechanisms of lung repair and regeneration. Models of lung injury in mice & rats are used to assess the role of alveolar type II epithelial cells as a therapeutic agent in treating acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).

Future Education Plans and/or Career Goals:
Following my time as an undergraduate, I plan to pursue an MSc or PhD in Laboratory Medicine & Pathobiology.
