Tell me more about this program!

The AKW program is an arts-based, peer-supported mental health promotion program for graduate students within the Temerty Faculty of Medicine. This program consists of group-based, drop-in workshops led by a professional artist and a peer facilitator that span a range of creative modalities (ex. visual arts, dance, music, creative writing). The creative arts workshops are 1-hour in length and delivered virtually for students' convenience. The purpose of this program is to promote student mental health and well-being by creating a supportive environment for self-expression, empowering students with arts-based self-care strategies, and fostering meaningful connections. This program is run by the Creative Wellness Committee (Rehabilitation Sciences Institute), with support from a Graduate Student Wellness Grant (Graduate and Life Sciences Education).
