Why Temerty Faculty of Medicine:
As an alumna of the Master of Health Sciences Translational Research Program at the University of Toronto, I have been enrolled at the Temerty Faculty of Medicine throughout this past degree. Continuing onward to pursue a PhD through the IMS within the faculty of medicine was a fitting next step for me. I wanted to remain fully immersed in biotechnology, science innovation, and research while surrounding myself with a multitude of scientific talent, a world-class faculty, and the thriving and growing Canadian biotechnology environment.

Why this Department:
I chose the Institute of Medical Sciences because I wanted to complement my clinical patient-centric research with wet-lab technical research skills. The multidisciplinary profile of the IMS was appealing and drew me to seek mentorship from dedicated driven faculty.

Current Research Experience:
My Master's focused on bringing research from the lab bench to the bedside of patients. My Ph.D. now focuses on testing a novel drug on human skin cells and evaluating molecular mechanisms related to the drug treatments, both degrees complement one another, and IMS was the perfect department to facilitate my next venture.
