Ontario Genomics Institute (OGI)

The OGI  Summer Fellowships

The fellowship offers undergraduate students a unique opportunity to engage in meaningful, real-life research in the area of genomics, proteomics or bioinformatics. The value of the Summer Research Fellowship is $5,000. Universities are strongly encouraged to support these outstanding students by supplementing the amount of the award using other sources.  Candidates must be Ontario residents and undergraduate students in their first, second, or third year at Ontario universities working towards their first degree in any recognized program. They must be in good academic standing, having earned a cumulative average of at least B+, as defined by their university. They must conduct their research projects in the province.  International students are eligible to apply as long as they meet the aforementioned criteria.  Students in co-operative education or undergraduate professional degree programs are not eligible to apply. Applicants will need to find an appropriate person who is active in genomics-related research and is willing to act as their supervisor for the summer. With the guidance of a supervisor, applicants will write a research proposal.
