Why Faculty of Medicine: I chose the Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto (U of T) for having had an already fruitful undergraduate experience at the university. Anyone that enters U of T can be rest assured that they will receive a world-class education. Thus, I was more than certain that the Faculty of Medicine would be able to offer the strong and rigorous clinical curriculum I desired for a professional master’s program. Afterall, this is the place where insulin was found!

Why this Department: The Department of OS&OT consists of faculty who are leaders in their field. I knew I would not only be able to learn the necessary clinical skills but also be able to gain crucial knowledge from individuals who’ve excelled in the field of occupational therapy (OT).

Current Research Experience:  I have always had a passion for research and was very glad that the OT program at U of T offered the opportunity to work on a project of my choosing. The moment I joined the program I instantly took the opportunity to partake in a lab and take part in research led by faculty. I have been a part of various labs within the Department of OS&OT that have strengthened my research experience. I am exiting the program now having submitted a manuscript to one of the top OT journals and having presented my graduate research at multiple conferences.

Future Education Plans and/or Career Goals: Having recently completed the OT program, I am about to pursue my passion for both research and medicine by entering the Rehabilitation Science Institute at U of T as a PhD student this fall. I am excited to take the path of a clinician scientist and continue to advocate for
