TREnD2021

TREnD2021Calling all RNA enthusiasts! We are inviting you to our sixth annual Toronto RNA Enthusiast’s Day (TREnD)! TREnD is a student-led and trainee-focused symposium which, in past years, has brought together over 200 RNA biologists from across Canada and the US. Although TREnD will not be held in person this year, our goal is the same: to bring together scientists for some great discussions about RNA biology!

TREnD2021 will be hosted online via Fourwaves/Zoom and will encompass two days of RNA-related talks from 1:00-5:00 pm EST on July 28th and 29th. Registration is FREE!

Registration is now open and will close on Wednesday, July 28th. So, hurry and register! We will have a poster session AND trainee talks session BOTH DAYS. This means double the awards for trainees! Please find instructions for abstract submissions here.

The deadline to submit an abstract for an oral presentation is June 7, 2021 at 23:59 EST. We will inform those selected for oral presentations by June 28, 2021. The deadline to submit an abstract for a poster presentation is July 5, 2021 at 23:59 EST.

We will kick off Day 1 with our keynote speaker, Dr. Rachel Green from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. On Day 2, Shiz Aoki, CEO and co-founder of BioRender, will lead an exciting “Lunch”-and-Learn workshop on all things science communication to advance RNA research and accessibility. Visit our website (www.trendrna.com) or email us at trendrna@gmail.com for more information.

Finally, our popular RNArt Contest is back this year! Show off your artistic skills and love of RNA by submitting your RNA-inspired creation to our second annual RNArt contest. The winning artwork will receive a prize! Submission guidelines can be found here. The deadline to submit artwork is July 5, 2021 at 23:59 EST.

We look forward to seeing you and your lab memberTREnD2021s (virtually) at TREnD2021 Online! Hosted in Toronto, we are stoked to kick off our 6th annual meeting in the 6ix! ;)

Sincerely,

TREnD2021 Organizing Committee
