Temerty Community Connection: Latin X & Caribbean

Temerty Community Connection (TCC) is a new event series developed by learners, faculty and staff at Temerty Medicine. We aim to host a safe space for attendees to (re)connect with each other as an introductory effort to building a culturally relevant community of support within the Faculty.

The Latin X & Caribbean community holds a diverse, multi-layered set of identities that is underrepresented in medical education, healthcare spaces and discussions on equity. There is complexity in the way people choose to identify, with terms like Latina, Latino, Latine, Afro-Latin, Latin American and Caribbean representing unique aspects of lived experiences and values. There is also a wide variety of languages that represent this community; many Indigenous languages, Creole, French, Patois, Portuguese, and Spanish. We welcome all who hold roots in Central & South America and the Caribbean regions to this event.

Join us for some delicious refreshments, guests who will share data and speak on the Latin X & Caribbean experience in medicine, and a panel discussion with Q&A!

We invite all Latin X & Caribbean identifying learners, staff, and faculty members at Temerty Medicine, and their allies & friends, to join us. Families and folks of all ages are welcome to this evening of learning and community!
