Crush Impostor Phenomenon in Science

CIPINDo you experience feelings of isolation and imposter phenomenon in graduate school? If you’re unsure, you can take this test to find out. Most graduate students do, but not many talk about it.

We are inviting you to participate in this conversation, through a new initiative titled “Crushing Imposter Phenomenon in Science”!

We aim to minimize patterns of Imposter Phenomenon by highlighting diversity in science. For each event, speaker(s) will present their experience as a minority in STEM and provide tips for students facing Imposter Phenomenon. The event will include a workshop geared towards hands-on and reflective activities to enable students to solidify take-home tips and tools.

Our next event will be held on August 10th @5-6:30pm! Please see the poster for information about our two speakers, Paula Littlejohn and Muzzammil Abdur-Razak, or our website (https://crushimposter.wixsite.com/home) for more information about our initiative. This event is funded by the Graduate Student Wellness Grant offered by Graduate and Life Science Education in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine.

To register for this event, please fill out this registration form. Once registered, you will receive a personalized zoom link to join the event on August 10th.

Many students experience feelings of imposter phenomenon during graduate school, you’re not alone! Join us in sharing and relating our experiences with experienced scientists who have developed ways to help overcome these feelings of isolation.
