My past research experiences include working as a research assistant at the University of Toronto (Life Span Adaptation Projects) and completing my Master of Science thesis project at the University of Guelph.
For my doctoral thesis, I am studying the neural structures underlying mirror visual feedback using a brain stimulation technique known as transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). My research is conducted in our Neurophysiology lab at the Krembil Research Institute (Toronto Western Hospital, University Health Network). The goal of my project is to identify the contribution of these cortical areas in order to optimize the treatment of movement disorders.
Why Faculty of Medicine?
I chose the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto because of its commitment towards advancing medicine and medical research. The Faculty is comprised of reputable scientists and clinicians affiliated with different research institutions and hospitals. This allows for great mentorship, collaboration and learning opportunities for students.
Future Career Goals.
At present, I’m considering academic and non-academic careers. My education and experiences at the University of Toronto have introduced me to various options in academia, industry and government.
