Recent Research Experience:
My past research experiences ranged from molecular to clinical during my undergraduate years. Most recently, I was involved in a clinical study looking at the safety and efficacy of nabilone, a synthetic cannabinoid, for the treatment of agitation in Alzheimer’s Disease. This experience provided me with the fundamental skills and knowledge required to undertake my own research project as a PhD student.

Current Research:
Fueled by the passion to discover better and safer alternatives to current therapies for cognitive disorders with neuropsychiatric symptoms, I am currently interested in the safety and efficacy of brain stimulation techniques for cognitive impairment in Alzheimer’s Disease.

Why Faculty of Medicine?
By working with innovative and renowned clinicians and scientists, students are given the tools to become creative and critical thinkers. The diverse spectrum of research disciplines within the Faculty of Medicine also provides students with the opportunity to broaden their knowledge through collaborations and a wide array of scientific topics. Taken together, these components help students like myself gain different perspectives and ultimately, become better researchers.

Future Education Plans and/or Career Goals:
My career goal is to become a scientist dedicated towards discovering alternative treatments for patients with neuropsychiatric and cognitive disorders. My primary goals are to always remain curious, to continue contributing to the field of neuroscience, and to better improve the quality of life for patients.
